Who We Are
BestToolsAU is an independent, Australian-owned software comparison site. We help small business owners across Australia and New Zealand choose the right business tools — without the jargon, without the hype, and without the bias.
We know that choosing software can be overwhelming. There are dozens of options for every category, and most review sites are just thinly-disguised ads. We wanted to build something different: honest, detailed comparisons written by people who actually understand Australian business needs.
What We Do
We research, test, and compare business software across key categories:
- Invoicing software — for sending invoices and getting paid
- CRM systems — for managing leads and customer relationships
- Accounting software — for sole traders and small businesses
- POS systems — for retail and hospitality businesses
- Project management tools — for keeping teams organised
Every comparison focuses on what matters to Australian businesses: GST handling, BAS lodgement, ATO integration, pricing in AUD, and local support. We also cover NZ-specific features where relevant.
How We Make Money
Transparency matters to us. BestToolsAU earns revenue through affiliate partnerships. When you click a link to a product and sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
This never influences our rankings or reviews. We recommend products based on their genuine merit for Australian businesses. If a product has a great affiliate programme but a mediocre product, we'll say so. Our reputation depends on trust, and we take that seriously.
Our Review Process
Every product we review goes through the same process:
- We sign up for the product and use it hands-on
- We evaluate Australian-specific features (GST, BAS, STP, bank feeds)
- We check current Australian pricing and plan details
- We read real user reviews from Australian businesses
- We score each product out of 10 across multiple criteria
- We update our reviews regularly to keep information current
